Where, When and Getting Here

    Party for the Planet is held on Saturday, April 27 at Surrey Civic Plaza (13450 104 Ave) in Surrey, BC and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Party for the Planet is situated on the on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Salish Peoples, including the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and sǝmyámǝ (Semiahmoo) land-based nations.

    Exhibitor and Market Vendor applications have closed, but you may sign up for our waitlist in case of any openings. 

    No! Party for the Planet offers free admission. Entrance is permitted on a first come, first served basis and is subject to capacity restrictions.

    SkyTrain: The Surrey Central SkyTrain station is right next door, with Expo Line trains running approximately every 6 minutes.

    Bus: Surrey Civic Plaza is right beside the Surrey Central Bus Loop. Plan your trip using Translink’s Trip Planner.

    Driving: Limited free parking is available in Parking Level 1 and 2 of Surrey City Hall.

    Cycling: Route options include major street bike lanes and shared lanes. The Bicycle Valet will be on site monitoring and parking bikes in bike racks located by the library on University Drive.

    Central Avenue: 

    • Central Avenue (West Bound) will be closed from Civic Plaza Lane to University Drive on Friday, April 26th at 5:30PM to Saturday, April 27th at 11:30PM (approximately). 

    University Drive: 

    • University Drive From Central Avenue to 104 Avenue (North and South Bound Lanes) will be closed from Friday, April 26th at  5:30PM to Saturday, April 27th at 11:30PM (approximately).
    • Access to the bus loop and the City Hall Parkade entrance from University Drive will remain open and accessible.

    Limited free parking is available on P1 and P2 of the parkade below Surrey City Hall.

    Health and Safety

      Prohibited items include: 

      •    Animals
      •    Barbecues
      •    Drugs or alcohol
      •    Any weapon or item that can be used as a weapon
      •    Pop-up tents
      •    Hard coolers

      *Additional items may be deemed prohibited or illicit as per event security.

      Attendees are discouraged from bringing pets into the event, and are not permitted within the food truck area on University Drive or in the Live Green World tent on Surrey Civic Plaza. Verified service animals are permitted.

      No, smoking and vaping of any substance is not permitted on Surrey Civic Plaza. 

      The City of Surrey has hired Green Chair Recycling–a locally owned waste management enterprise–to provide waste reduction solutions at the event. Food trucks will use only compostable food and serving containers. Green Chair will maximize Party for the Planets waste diversion rate by educating the public on waste sorting and ensuring there is no cross-contamination of waste products.

      Food, Drinks and Amenities

        Party for the Planet offers many vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free food and beverage options on University Drive. 

         

        Party for the Planet encourages touchless debit and credit payments throughout the festival, at the food trucks and at Sustainable Marketplace vendors.

            

        Accessibility

          The City of Surrey has an unwavering commitment to creating events that are enjoyable and inclusive to everyone. 

          Accessibility services include:

          • Limited Accessible Vehicle Parking: Accessible vehicle parking is available on a first come, first served basis in P1 of the Surrey City Hall parkade.
          • ASL Interpreter: An ASL interpreter is present at all events on the main stage during ceremonies to translate speeches by land-based Nations, elected officials, and dignitaries.
          • Custom-built Wheelchair Access Ramps: Tailored ramps are constructed to provide access across University Drive’s curbs and medians at Party for the Planet. This ensures accessibility for those with various mobility abilities.
          • Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Tables: Accessible picnic tables are positioned in eating areas.
          • Paved Event Site: Party for the Planet is located at Surrey Civic Plaza and the event site is entirely paved.
          • Adult and Baby Changing Facilities: Party for the Planet is equipped with adult change tables and baby change tables to ensure convenient, safe, and comfortable changing spaces for families and those of all abilities.
          • Accessible Washrooms: Wheelchair accessible flushing washrooms are available inside Surrey City Hall.
          • Sensory Friendly Spaces: Hosted by the Canucks Autism Network, the City’s major events feature dedicated sensory-friendly spaces furnished with noise-canceling headphones and sensory toys.
          • Wayfinding Information: Adequate wayfinding information is strategically positioned to raise awareness of available facilities at the event.
          • Accessibility Map: An accessibility map will be posted on the event website and shared on social media.

          Yes, there will be a quiet space with comfortable seating inside City Hall in Community Room 1E. The library will be also hosting Quiet activities zone open from 12-4pm in their large program room on the first floor.
