Perelandra Waddle
Hello, Bonjour, and Taanishi! Perelandra Waddle is an up-and-coming Métis interdisciplinary performing artist from the unceded and unsurrendered Coast Salish lands of British Columbia and the founder of the dance company ᐋᐧᐸᓇᒐᑯᐢ✨ (pronounced: wâpanacahkos). She uses a mixture of dance and theatre performances to create unique cultural and political art. She started her training as a ballet, lyrical, and tap dancer and went on to earn a degree in contemporary dance at SFU. It wasn't until her early adulthood that she began trying to reconnect with her Métis heritage, and she connected with her mentor, teacher, and role model, Yvonne Chartrand. Now, her life consists largely of performing and teaching traditional and contemporary Métis jigging and square dancing.
