Clothing Swap

Help divert textiles from ending up in the landfill and bring repair skills back to use with patches, darning and stitches. Bring 1-3 clothing items needing repair and learn how to repair them yourself with the support of Frameworq’s expert menders! They provide the supplies and sharing skills to fix your favorite garments. Don’t have anything to fix? Bring any clean, unwanted clothes for the Clothing Swap!

The  Rethink Waste  Sewing Workshop & Clothing Swap will be open from 11am - 6pm.


For Kids

Bring your little ones to experience the fun of Earth Day! Party for the Planet offers fun activities for all ages. Kids activities include a rock climbing wall, Sports Surrey activity zone, the Family Stage and the Downtown Surrey BIA kid’s craft zone.


Food Trucks

Don't forget to chow down at a variety of food trucks on University Drive! Party for the Planet is proud to offer a variety of vegan (VE), vegetarian (V) and gluten-free (GF) options. Food trucks include:

City Centre Library

Extended hours! The City Centre Library will be open until 7pm for the event. Visit the library with your family to experience:

  • Family Storytime: Join us for nature-themed stories, songs, and rhymes for the whole family at 2 p.m. in the Children’s Area. 
  • Drop-in DUPLO® Playtime: Join us for unstructured family playtime from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. in Room 120. We provide the DUPLO®, you provide the ideas!
  • Giant Games: Drop-in from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. in the Accessibility Lounge. All ages welcome.

Environmental Extravaganza

Surrey’s Environmental Extravaganza is a long-running series of free environmental programs that happen from April to June each year, hosted in collaboration with our community partners. Visit booths in the Live Green World to learn about what programs will be offered this year.

Partners include BC Wildlife Federation, Birds Canada, Burns Bog Conservation Society, Honeybee Centre, Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, NatureKids BC, Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program, Serpentine Enhancement Society, Surrey Urban Farmers Market, and Tynehead Salmon Hatchery.

Blender Bikes

Hop on a blender bike and pedal hard to turn the blender and make a smoothie! Blender bikes fit most people ages 6 and up. Everyone can sample these delicious, human-powered bike smoothies.
